Cam Escoffery, PhD, MPH, CHES

Senior Advisor

Cam Escoffery, PhD, MPH, CHES is a Professor of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University. A behavioral scientist and health educator by training, Dr. Escoffery has dedicated over 29 years to advancing health promotion, cancer prevention, and implementation science. Her work focuses on bridging the gap between clinical research and real-world practice, specifically by translating evidence-based interventions into sustainable public health programs. She currently serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) or Multi-Principal Investigator (MPI) on several high-impact national initiatives, including a hybrid I effectiveness-implementation trial evaluating "Cancer SurvivorLink" for pediatric cancer survivors, the Managing Epilepsy Well (MEW) Network, and the Emory Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN). Her extensive research portfolio has been supported by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Cancer Society, and the Healthcare Georgia Foundation.


An internationally recognized leader in the field, Dr. Escoffery has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to seven foundational textbooks, including Practical Implementation Science: Moving Evidence into Action and Health Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation. She is a past President of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) and co-editor of the official national study guide for the credentialing of health educators. At R2I, she leverages her deep expertise in the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), mixed-methods evaluation, and mHealth to help organizations build capacity and move evidence into action.


Dr. Escoffery’s core expertise lies at the intersection of implementation science, cancer prevention, and health technology. She specializes in the scalability of electronic health records, qualitative study designs, and the systematic review of global health interventions. Her academic background includes a PhD in Health Promotion and Behavior with an emphasis in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia, as well as a Master of Public Health from Emory University. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), reflecting her career-long commitment to community-engaged and skills-oriented public health education.
